Zdravo, Salut!
My name is Cécile, and I
am an evs volunteer in Pekarna Magdalenske mreže with Marek. I am from France
(Nantes). I came the first of february, and I am here until the
begining of december. I choose Maribor to do my EVS because of Pekarna Magdalenske Mreže, they have the most interesting projects
in my opinion. And also because I didn't know anything about
Slovenia, and slavic culture as well.
I am here to totally make
a break with my daily, I was a freelance illustrator, which I had a
lot of difficulties to earn my living with. And I wanted to do some
experience abroad, it was missing in my life. I am here to meet new
people and new culture, to give a hand, build some projects, learn
from teamworks.
Here is a drawing of my
first sight of Maribor. Of course it is only one aspect of it,
because If I've put all what I saw, it could be very weird. I noticed
that Maribor has a lot of bakeries (Pekarna), and even my NGO wear
this noun. I didn't travel a lot, but I thought that the bread was
mostly a french stuff. In Maribor we can eat everywhere, and take a
tea or a coffee in cosy and nice places. You will also notice that it
is a quite naive vision, of course you can choose to not take it
literally. I mean, I know that people from Maribor are clever so far,
and this world isn't perfect, right? :)
To be continued.
